Waikouaiti Beach Tavern and Motels is located in a serene place and if you are looking for a peaceful weekend we are the perfect place to be at. You might not have heard of Waikouaiti. It is the birthplace of Otago and steeped in local history. It is a small township situated on the main highway just 30mins North of the city of Dunedin. With our own golf course, Bowling Green and tennis courts all within walking distance of our motels.
You will enjoy your stay with us mainly because we have 4 lovely little boutique cottages, just perfect for that romantic time away and we are located just 3 minutes walking distance to one of the best white/golden sand beaches in New Zealand. The serenity and the peaceful environment are boundless. A great place to “Wind Down” before you has to head back to the city life.
We also have Motel units that are more suited for the family 2 Double units that have a Queen bed in a separate bedroom and 2 single beds in a separate room. All motel units have full cooking facilities, own bathroom and toilet facilities.
We have a great covered outdoor area as part of our Tavern, which is perfect to relax in with a drink for those hot sunny days. We also offer hot snacks & evening meals. If you are in dire need of a break and want to relax for a week, come to our motel and experience the best we can offer. The tavern is a very popular local establishment offering a good range of wines, beers, ciders etc. We also have non alcoholic beverages, ice creams as well.
